Judy McCoy Hopwood
Owner and Trainer

Judy McCoy Hopwood is an FEI rider, trainer, and the owner of Station Hill Farm, established in 1992. She earned her bronze and silver USDF medals in 1995. She acquired her strong classical dressage education working over the years with Olympian Michael Poulin, Hanoverian judge and FEI trainer Gerd Zuther, and Master horseman Alex Konyot. Judy worked for FEI rider Kathy VonErtfelda as her head rider and barn manager for eight years.

In 2014, Judy coached the dressage for the Area 4 eventing NAJYRC team. Her coaching produced the first dressage win at the young rider championships for the Area 4 team. Former students include eventing superstars Becky Holder and her horse Hogan in preparation for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, as well as Holly Hepp and her horse Stewie in preparation for her 2010 run at Rolex.

Judy enjoys training horses and riders to become better listeners and communicators in the art of classical dressage. Her goal is to help riders discover the maximum potential of their horse and of themselves.

"Think of riding as science, but love it as an art."
